El Tambo

When I first tasted some “super-coffees” going back some years ago now, amongst them was a Colombian from the Nariño region. For me it was a coffee revelation and unlike any coffee from that part of the world I had tasted before. To some coffee roasters, the coffees of Nariño have captured their imagination and partly inspired them to do this for a living, I’m not alone! One of the funny things is that you have to look so hard to find anything that comes close to what you remember as being REALLY good these days as our coffee just gets better and better.
This is a Coffee Hunter Lot ™ and is a tiny 280Kg batch. When I first tasted it blind (amongst other coffee from all-over) it shone, and later I found it was both Colombian and also from Nariño.
“El Tambo” was one of the original Black Apron coffees that were the founding pillars of the Starbucks coffee Empire.
Cup profile: Juicy red fruits, summer punch. buttery mouth feel, milk chocolate, a little salty and a finish that all just brings everything together....in my case just wanting more.
