Formula 6 Espresso Beans.

Type coffee

Price: £4.30

Some years ago, l spent hours and hours cupping and cupping to get this coffee just as it should be. The complexity of making great espresso is that apart from perfecting this unique beverage, it is the base for so many other tastes or drinks. Some of the intention was to create a coffee that was easy to make. I can get boring here.... For a change, I thought I would let the world know what's involved in this coffee...

Formula 6 is a very special blend of coffee....and has been on our list consistently for the last 9 years. Possibly the longest running seasonal espresso in the UK specialty coffee business?

Currently We are using :

Fazenda Sao benedito, from the El Carmo area of Minas Gerais Brazil
Tunki Award winning coffee from Cecovasa Peru.
Finca Bourbon, 100% bourbon from Chimeltenango, Guatemala
Bibi AAA Plantation  coffee from Sunticoppa, India
La Guachoca super sweet (new farm to us) Santa Ana El Salvador.
...and no funky naturals at the moment.....watch this space.

Formula 6 espresso is cupped and roast profiled daily. This ensures your craft espresso coffee is consistent and in peak condition.

I am finding that with our F6 cappuccinos you can a really soild chocolate hit right now. The aromatics are really almondy and chocolaty and this is really unsubtle but bam!The shots are really rich with great body.  Love that coffee! Giving this coffee 7-10 days to rest can make a huge positive difference. In  the roastery we are always tasting coffee too soon and beating ourselves up...as coffee opens up it really improves.

As many of you may know I am a coffee socialist and I really want to keep F6 available to as many of the people, as much of the time! Coffee prices are squeezing me and against my will we are having to rise this a little....

Keep coming back to this it really is good. Full coffee taste with chocolatey notes which I like. If I'm making coffee for friends I always use this because I can depend on it to impress.

Jonathan Osborne Rated: 5 Happy First Customer
Having never ordered from James Gourmet before I was delighted to discover this excellent espresso blend. A fantastically smooth and balanced shot of espresso that was equally good with milk. I think I have found my default espresso blend......thanks James Gourmet

Anonymous Rated: 5 Simply delicious!
This blend is one of the best I have ever tasted. It combines notes of chocolate and caramel as well as fruit notes (blueberry) that make this coffee stunningly refreshing and very enjoyable. Formula 6 is excellent as straight espresso but I also love it in milk-based drinks.

Having tried numerous beans and blends for our daily coffee club meetings this one was voted as the winner and hence we have used it for several years. An absolute excellent all rounder and highly recommended.

David Waters Rated: 5 Go to Espresso
This is my "go to" espresso - have been buying it for years and will keep doing so...not a bad word to be said about it (or James Gourmet Coffee)

Justin Clark Rated: 5 I've ordered loads of different beans from different online suppliers and can honestly say this to me is the easiest coffee to use to get great espresso. Taste is great and excellent for lattes...

Barry Dean Rated: 4 Very good
This is indeed a very good coffee - not the darkest roast I've seen, but rich, smooth and chocolatey. It makes good lattes, flat whites, and macchiatos. I would buy this again.
